INTRODUCTION

Inspired by my affinity for NASA, I decided to redesign the NASA Worm Logo.  I wanted the design to be  a light touch to the logo with rounded edges.

CONCEPT

While designing, I saw the overlap of the "N" and the "A" formed a teardrop shape. I immediately thought of a meteor.

PROBLEM

PROBLEM

I polled a circle of friends for feedback on the design. The majority stated that  identified the teardrop as blood, mainly due to the red color.

REVISION

I wanted to make a simplistic meteor that would be easily recognized. So, I made a few sketches before creating a render.

REVISION

I liked the different sketches, but they were too complex to scale. So, I decided to use a gradient to simulate a meteor entering the Earth's atmosphere.

REVISION

In a final review of the "meteor gradient", I decided to redesign the logo with the letters being non-contiguous.
